There’s nothing more heart-warming than a beautiful smile from a baby.

And it’s even more touching when they laugh and are looking right at you.

Wow!

What a wonderful feeling that makes your day, right? Well, if you want to experience that pure sense of joy, do attend the 113th Annual Northern Navajo Fair Baby Contest.

This momentous and picturesque event will be held on Wednesday, September 30 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Northern Navajo Fairgrounds in Shiprock, New Mexico.

Beginning at 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., male and female newborn babies to 12 months will compete for prizes. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., male and female babies who are 13 months to 36 months old will showcase their best traditional Navajo attire.

Babies who are 37 months old to 60 months old, both male and female, will vie for the winning title.

Baby Event Coordinator Lynn Bia invites all fair-goers to start their Northern Navajo Fair off with a lot of joy, laughter and wonderful memories.

As young as they are, babies are talented.

Some babies may beat a drum while another may dance or even sing.

It is definitely the most adorable competition around.

Baby contests, especially Navajo Baby contests, really exemplifies the true cultural beauty of the Navajo people.

There’s nothing more photogenic than to see a stage full of babies dressed in velvet attire, moccasins and sparkling turquoise and silver jewelry.

It will be a big day for these little ones who will showcase who they are through their smiles, their laughter, their attire and most of all their precious heart. So mark your calendar to attend this showdown of ultimate cuteness. Don’t forget your cameras to capture these precious milestones.

Pray and enjoy the Northern Navajo Fair Baby Contest!
